Qnity Kalrez® O-Rings

For 50 years, Kalrez® has been a trusted name in perfluoroelastomer sealing for some of the world's most demanding operating environments.

Originally developed by DuPont, Kalrez® became part of Qnity following the separation of DuPont's Electronics business in 2025. While the company name has changed, the Kalrez® brand and its long history of material development and specialized sealing technology continue under Qnity.

Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer parts are designed for applications where conventional elastomers may not provide the chemical resistance, temperature capability, purity, or long-term performance required. Today, Kalrez® sealing products are used in critical applications across semiconductor manufacturing, chemical processing, aerospace, energy, oil and gas, and other industries where seal performance can have a significant impact on equipment reliability and process efficiency.

Why Kalrez®?

Kalrez® is not simply another FFKM material. Qnity has developed an extensive portfolio of Kalrez® compounds formulated around specific operating conditions, allowing customers to select a material based on the chemicals, temperatures, pressures, and process requirements their seals will actually encounter.

Kalrez® polymer technology provides exceptional resistance to a broad range of chemicals while maintaining sealing performance at elevated temperatures. Specialized compounds extend those capabilities even further, with options developed for rapid gas decompression resistance, high-purity semiconductor processing, aggressive plasma environments, pharmaceutical and food processing, chemical service, and other demanding applications.

Qnity's Kalrez® capabilities also extend well beyond standard O-rings. Custom-molded shapes, bonded door seals, valve components, diaphragms, lip seals, tubing, composite seals, and other specialized geometries can be developed for applications where a conventional O-ring is not the best solution. Qnity also has proprietary capabilities for bonding Kalrez® compounds to materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, PEEK, plastics, and other substrates, allowing the seal and component to be integrated into a single part.

Kalrez® parts are manufactured in the United States, including Qnity's expanded manufacturing operations in Newark, Delaware. Combined with dedicated application and testing expertise, this gives customers access to a sealing manufacturer with capabilities ranging from standard FFKM O-rings to highly specialized sealing solutions for mission-critical equipment.
